2-tank boat dives are the standard here in Cozumel. A 2-tank trip takes 4-5 hours on a fast boat. Travel time is usually less than 30 min to the best reefs in Cozumel. The trip includes: tanks, weights, marine park fees, fresh fruit, sodas, bottled water, hot cocoa on night dives or cold days, snack and private guide. We never have more than 6 divers per trip. If you need rental gear, it is an additional $18 per day for a full set. 3-tank trips are also available for $38 more if you are in need of more bottom time.
If you are diving more than 2 days with us, we would be happy to take care of your dive equipment for you. Gear service includes rinsing, drying and returning it with a fresh tank on the boat the next day you dive. No need to haul around the salty wet equipment if you don't want to.

If you have never done a night dive before, this is the place to begin. With its warm, clear water, Cozumel has some of the best night diving in the world. It is like diving in a whole new ocean. The corals and marine life are completely different during the night. The octopi come out of their holes to feed, as well as lobsters, crabs and many other fish you wouldn't see during the day. When you turn the lights off, you will be amazed at the sparkles (bioluminescence) in the rich Caribbean waters. (Dive lights are available at $7 extra if you need to rent one) Minimum of 3 divers required to do a nightdive.
(For certified Cave divers only)
Of all the caves in the Yucatan or possibly the world, this cave is unique. It is different from any other cave you have seen. With water temperatures between 78 and 84 degrees, long dives are the norm. The depth of most of the cave is less than 60 feet so decompression is rarely needed. Much of the cave is mapped but in order to see its real treasures you need a guide.
The first 20 minutes into the cave is coastal type cave; muddy bottom and moderate visibility (60 ft) with the halocline at 22 feet. Most of this section has a bottom at 30 ft. The tannic water on top is cooler and visibility is around 30 feet. Near the mainline you can expect to see lots of brittle stars, cave shrimp and sea worms. There are lots of jumps off this mainline. It would take 20 dives to see them all. Circuits connected to circuits are very common dive plans here. There are also many hidden jumps and connections that are fun to explore.
At Jump 5, the Sulfur River begins. This tunnel leads east and is the main water source for the system. The current above the halocline is often strong, which makes for a nice ride on the way out, but below it is calm. Decorating the walls of this tunnel are many partially eroded formations. There is some breakdown here but one of the most striking features is the white algae that grows in and near the halocline. It flows in the current like angel hair and makes a striking photo. At one location the ceiling drops below the halocline and actually causes an inverse waterfall where the fresh water is forced below the salt water and then falls upward. It is dramatic to say the least.
At the end of the Sulfur River, you have two options, continue on for more halocline and white algae or turn right and drop down to 60 ft and visit Wonderland. Once in Wonderland, the cave changes its face again. The visibility improves to over 100 ft, the water is warmer and the formations are abundant. Expect to see several endemic species here including remipedes and the rare white five-armed star fish. Stalactites and stalagmites decorate every wall and passage. Most of them are an orange or rusty brown color, but some are white and some almost transparent. The tunnels are larger here and one chamber has a floor to bottom depth of 40 ft. This is a complex cave with many jumps and T's. By using staging tanks, you can penetrate for over an hour and reach further areas like the Cathedral, Crystal Room and the Squeeze. Wonderland has several exciting areas with breathtaking soda straws and strange deposits of crystals. Bring your camera. You can be sure you will take home shots of rarely documented areas.
Areolito offers dramatic formations and striking visuals to any certified cave diver. A dive can be simple or complex depending on your experience and comfort level. It is completely different from the mainland Yucatan caves. If the only caves you've ever experienced are those in Florida, you may not want to go back!
We include doubles and stage bottles in the price of the dive, but not gear. You will definitely want to do more than just one dive in this cave, so make your reservations in advance. Please note: for safety we must limit trips to no more than three divers per group.
